For Berto, being a sustainable company is not the final goal but is, first and foremost, a concrete and shared value. For this reason, over the years, all production processes have been redesigned and improved to ensure maximum efficiency.

We strongly believe that sustainability is a conscious journey, a path of Research and Innovation that we have been proud to follow since 1887.

THE WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM

The company has a biological water treatment system. Biological = uses bacteria to purify water (no chemicals) and allows the conversion of sediments (sludge) into fertilizer.

This system transforms and separates wastewater into two parts:

  • Clean water that flows back into the river
  • Biological sediments that can be used to fertilize fields

The process that occurs in nature is recreated in a concentrated and improved way.

DETOX / ZDHC COMMITMENT

Berto Textile Industry recognizes the importance of eliminating hazardous substances from our production cycle. For this reason, in July 2016, we signed the Detox commitment, promoted by Greenpeace, thus beginning an important improvement journey. We share this commitment with a group of companies in the Prato textile district, under the coordination of Confindustria Toscana North. This new path aims to enrich our constant commitment to respecting the environment and the health of workers and consumers through quality products and processes.
