Berto4YoungTalents Update: EDITHMARCEL.

The Fall Winter 2018 collection by Edith Marcel draws from the workwear landscape as its main source of inspiration, deriving attitude and influences that are always mixed and tempered by the distinctive traits of the brand’s DNA: contrasting garments and materials, genderless character, refined allure.

Contrasting garments and materials, genderless character, refined allure.

The use of prints is also featured here but extended to various garments, making the brand’s iconic effigy a clear reference to the recurring use of logos and prints in the workwear universe. Technical or typical workwear materials such as denim, moleskin, nylon strapping, neoprene mesh, padded fabric, and synthetic lamb fur are combined with glitter-embroidered wool cloth, lurex fabric, sequins, worked silk, and cool wool.

The color palette features tones of black, blue, orange, and green, brightened by reflective gray details, sequins, and glitter. The garment design incorporates classic models such as the peacoat, shearling coat, vest, and tailored jacket, and infuses them with technical elements and details, including taped zippers, topstitching, reflective tapes, double-faced garments, padded jackets, branded pulls, and elastics.

Significant emphasis is placed on logo sweatshirts, also characterized by overlapping different materials, as well as tracksuits and overalls.

Great attention is paid to sustainability, which translates into the use of certified fabrics of plant and/or organic origin and converted post-consumer materials.
