OUR HISTORY
Where We Started
Founded in 1887 in Bovolenta (Padua), Berto Textile Industry began with sailcloth manufacturing and has transformed itself into a global reference point for premium denim.
Our history is built on continuous innovation, respect for tradition, and the ability to anticipate changes, while maintaining strong ties with our territory and the Italian supply chain.
“
Every Fabric is a Fragment of our History, a Fusion of Experience, Vision, and Manufacturing Culture
In 1887, in Bovolenta, in the heart of the Padua province, Berto Textile Industry was born from the intuition and courage of brothers Giuseppe and Egidio Berto.
Since then, we have produced denim only here, without compromise, maintaining deep connections with our territory and the Italian textile supply chain.
A heritage that belongs not only to the past but continues to inspire every meter of fabric we create.
From sails for Venice to workwear and home textiles, to shirt fabrics and premium denim: our journey spans across sectors, generations, and innovations.
Today, Berto is recognized as a company capable of offering unique and highly customized solutions, thanks to its deep product knowledge and unmatched production flexibility.
For us, time has never been about waiting: it’s about research, experimentation, and the ability to anticipate the future — as happens when you touch a fabric and perceive its soul.
WHAT GUIDES US
Our History is Already Innovation.
Every new idea is rooted in our heritage, respecting the Made in Italy supply chain and caring for the environment and people.
We are guided by:
- Tireless curiosity, which drives us to explore new techniques and materials.
- Responsibility, to create denim that respects the earth and labor.
- Italian pride, as part of the supply chain that makes Made in Italy denim unique.
This is our world: uniting memory and vision, to create fabrics that speak of present and future.
