The collection, consisting of 5 outfits (2 menswear and 3 womenswear), is inspired by five decades that have, in various ways, marked the history of fashion. The 1920s were chosen as the post-war years and the rebirth of fashion, a period defined by sinuous lines and fluid, luxurious fabrics. <\/p>\n
The 1950s are the decade of rock \u2019n\u2019 roll, blue jeans, T\u2011shirts, and polka-dot patterns. The leather jacket becomes an indispensable menswear must-have. The fashion of these years marks a period of renewal: the austere mood gives way to polished looks inspired by pin\u2011ups. After hard years in which women were compelled to take men\u2019s place in factories and offices, women\u2014elegant, refined, and highly feminine\u2014reclaim their role with more strength than ever. At last, women dare more. The 1960s are a time of profound social change, the decade of casualwear and bare legs. A fashion that favors anti\u2011form silhouettes, a cry of protest\u2014an era of small and great revolutions. A decade that changed the course of humanity forever, with its contradictions, its revolutions, its cornerstones, and its style that was never banal. The 1970s and 1980s were then chosen because they celebrate denim in all its forms. These are years of emancipation and economic recovery\u2014years of excess and extravagance. They are Berto\u2019s glorious years, the ones that made it known worldwide. <\/p>\n
Creating the collection was a slow, intimate experience that saw Andrea and Gianluca moved to work with fabrics 100% Made in Veneto, the manufacturing heartland of denim par excellence. All the fabrics used were meticulously selected to recreate the look and hand of those used in the past; moreover, two fabrics were developed specifically for this project. <\/p>\n
